Uniting for Change: Supporting Cancer Awareness and Patients in Yaoundé
October is Cancer Awareness Month, and we are proud to have partnered with the Gynaeco-Obstetrics hospital in Yaounde to support cancer patients undergoing treatment. Our dedicated volunteers were on hand to assist the hospital team with screening and providing emotional support to those affected by cancer. This partnership is particularly significant as it highlights our commitment to supporting individuals affected by cancer, particularly in underserved communities. By working together with healthcare providers, we aim to increase access to screening, diagnosis, and treatment for all. Our volunteers played a vital role in this initiative, providing a supportive presence for patients and their families. Their selflessness and compassion are a testament to the power of community and the impact we can have when we come together to make a difference. In the heart of Douala, Cameroon, as the Muslims take their evening prayer, we witnessed the power of community during the foundation’s gathering aimed at nourishing both body and spirit. As the sun set and evening prayers concluded, the air was filled with gratitude and anticipation. We embraced the sacred tradition of breaking bread together, opening our hearts and hands to serve the Muslim faithful, including anyone in need—regardless of their background. In that moment, we transformed into one big family, united in our shared humanity. As we shared meals with joy and laughter, we celebrated the gift of life that God has bestowed upon us all. Each plate of cooked food and each plastic of uncooked food, represented more than nourishment; it symbolized hope, compassion, and the unwavering belief that together, we can make a difference.

In the heart of Yaoundé, Cameroon, our foundation’s mission to uplift the less privileged came to life in a deeply moving way during our recent Back to School project. At St. Rica’s Orphanage, we didn’t just deliver supplies we delivered hope. With generous donations of exercise books, cooking pots to nourish the children, and breakfast items, we aimed to ensure that these young souls feel cherished and supported. During our visit, we learned of three bright-eyed children whose dreams were dimmed by the burden of school fees. Recognizing the potential within them, we made the heartfelt decision to cover their tuition costs in full. This commitment isn't just about education; it’s about granting them the chance to dream, to aspire, and to believe in a brighter future a future we can all share.
